A suggestion for future festivals: I saw the Shifty Sailors at the Tall Ships Race in Waterford in 2005 and they were great - they wove in amongst the crowd singing and were very entertaining. Their CD "Ho, for the Life!" is a favourite with all the family.

I missed most of the events due to a gastric bug but managed to catch Martin and Dennis and co. on Sunday evening in Rushbrooke Church. It was just superb, couldn't ask for better - a quiet drink in the Tennis Club, a warm evening on the hillside, then amazing and energetic music from all the performers in a very welcoming and intimate atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the Johnson Girls as I had not really experienced women singing maritime songs and it adds a new dimension and shows us that sisters can do it too! Perly i Lotry (apologies for spelling) were so energetic and raised the roof. And I really loved the music from Martin and Dennis and found it relaxing, invigorating and transporting. Well done all! Hopefully next year I will be able to catch a few more sessions.

Thanks to all for a wonderful weekend at the festival, the superb organisation and enthusiasm of organisers, volunteers and artists was a joy to experience. The quality of organisation, venues and performance was top class and the people of Cobh were a delight to drink with and talk to.

A bit belated this, but nevertheless heartfelt thanks to everybody involved in running this great event. We had a fantastic weekend - our first but not last in Cobh.

Stars? All the festival performers, the Beamish - the Murphy's and Guinness were close -, the bells of St Colman's (wow!), the pipe bands and above all the people of Cobh who were unfailingly warm, friendly and helpful.

Hope to see you all again next year.

To all the performers, volunteers, staff and audience who helped make the 2007 festival a success. Thank you! We couldn't do it without all of your input, time, talent and attendence. I'd like to also thank the local groups who partnered with us this year along with Cobh Gardai, St. Colman's Pipe band, Cobh Farmers Market, Cobh Craft Group and volunteer stewards who helped the Sunday event go smoothly and safely. MyCork was a great help on Thursday night with the launch of Nic Piper's Labyrinth which really got the festival off to a great start. This was a brilliant weekend for Cobh and proved to us all that this festival is an iimportant event in our tourism and cultural calendar. We look forward to the continued development of the Cobh Maritime Festival and we hope to see you all again next year. Warmest regards

What a weekend !  The Maritime Festival, The Fench and Farmers Markets, the pipe Band Festival, the Navigator of the Seas and the weather.  it is possiable when people pulled together. a lot of hard work went in to the whole weekend, so if you were involved give yourselves a massive pat on the back.

We've been promising ourselves a return visit ever since our first in 2004. This year we made it!

Lovely place, great music & venues, wonderful people and the chance to meet up with old friends... it doesn't get much better than that!

Of course, it doesn't happen by accident... so a big "Thank you!" to Peggy & the other organisers who made it all work. Hope to see everyone again next year!
